Matthew is an award-winning British photojournalist currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied press photography and photojournalism in Sheffield and began his career at the Derby Telegraph and Derbyshire Magazine, where he spent three years covering a wide range of subjects, from breaking news and red carpet events to sporting fixtures and corporate features.
Following a brief time living in Australia, Matthew relocated to Denmark in 2012 and launched his freelance photography business. His first major commission came from Nike, marking the beginning of his career in sports photography. Since then, he has worked with high-profile brands and publications including Adidas, Condé Nast, The Guardian, and National Geographic Traveller
When not on assignment, Matthew is often swimming in the harbours of Copenhagen or performing with his band at local venues. His interest in people and his commitment to ongoing learning shape both his personal and professional approach to photography.
