Daniel is a seasoned cinematographer and time-lapse photographer based in Seoul, South Korea. After earning a B.A. in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago in 2008, he originally planned to build his career in New York or Los Angeles. However, what began as a temporary move abroad soon became a long-term commitment, and Daniel has since spent over ten years working as a freelance cameraman throughout the region.
His portfolio spans a broad spectrum of visual storytelling—ranging from narrative films and documentaries to corporate and branded video content for major international clients and broadcasters. Although rooted in Korea, Daniel’s work has taken him around the globe, including projects in South Africa, Europe, North America, and across Asia.
Daniel is technically versatile, experienced with formats such as 35mm and 16mm film, DSLRs, mirrorless systems, and high-end digital platforms including RED and ARRI. His ability to adapt to diverse production environments makes him a trusted collaborator on projects of any scale.
In addition to cinematography, Daniel has also directed and produced independent films. His feature-length documentary Sedae explores generational divides in Korea, while They Say It’s Wonderful is a musical film set in Cape Town, showcasing his creative range behind the camera.
